We offer training courses on a range of website accessibility and usability issues. Our centre in Croydon is suitable for small groups of up to eight students. This size of class helps to ensure an effective and efficient transfer of knowledge. Courses can also be held at your workplace if this is more convenient.
The standard topics we cover are given below but we can also carry out bespoke courses designed for your particular requirements.
- Awareness Raising - a half-day workshop looking at how disabled people access the Internet and the barriers they face. This course is designed to help managers and others involved in commissioning or maintaining a website . It raises awareness of the issues around accessibility, thus reinforcing the need to comply with the relevant guidelines and explaining that it is not difficult to make websites accessible and yet keep them exciting
- Creating Accessible websites - a one day course demonstrating how to create accessible websites that comply with the WAI Guidelines. This course is aimed at technical staff who are responsible for maintenance of the code that underlies all websites. The course assumes a general knowledge of the HTML code system.
Course details are available here..
- Upgrading to WAIG version 2 -
A one day workshop looking at why the proposed new guidelines are needed, how they are structured, what is new in relation to HTML/XML coded websites and mapping the new guidelines to version 1. This course is designed for people who are already familiar with the version 1 guidelines and need to future proof their website by applying the draft version 2 guidelines now.
We run courses by arrangement only. Please let us have details of your requirements, including topics to be covered, required timescales and number of attendees and we will give you a price and alternative dates.
