We offer a service to help at every stage of website development.

We can report on complete websites, individual templates or specified pages. Testing your website during development can prevent the need for expensive retrofitting of "work-arounds". It is never too early to consider website usability and accessibility issues.

Accessibility audits and reports

The W3C/WAI guidelines (Either Version 1 or Version 2) are used as the basis for our comprehensive audits and reports which are conducted by our accessibility specialists. Importantly, we also have a panel of disabled users to help with the process. Their feedback frequently identifies problems which the specialists and automated tools do not find. The reports include a prioritised action plan explaining what you need to do to ensure that your site meets the WAI guidelines and complies with disability discrimination legislation, such as the DDA in the United Kingdom.

WAI/DDA tests

Our accessibility tests check your website for compliance with the W3C/WAI guidelines. These are the de-facto standards in the area of website accessibility. We can test against either Version 1 or Version 2 of the guidelines. The test report indicates Pass, Fail or Near for each checkpoint within the level being tested. We also include brief notes where necessary to explain the marks given.

Training services

We have our own e-learning course which covers all the fundamental issues relating to web accessibility including how disabled people access the web and how to build and maintain accessible websites.

We also offer scheduled courses in general accessibility awareness and more detailed workshops for website designers and engineers. These are both one day courses which are run regularly at various locations throughout the UK in conjunction with our partners VerseOne™ Technologies . Courses can also be tailored to meet your specific needs and skill levels, and can be conducted at your own premises if required.

E-Government reports

The latest Socitm report – Better Connected 2008 – shows that your public sector website is almost certainly not compliant. In fact, of all of the public sector websites throughout the entirety of the UK, in 2007 only 63 of them fulfilled the AA compliance standard of the Disability Discrimination Act: in 2008, that number had dropped to a mere 47.

At Userite we are totally committed to accessibility and we have an exhaustive knowledge of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative Guidelines (WAIG). We understand the real issues affecting accessibility and importantly, we know what needs to be done. We have the skills to ensure that your website becomes compliant in as short a time as possible.

Our eGovernment website reports provide a detailed analysis of your site and provide suggested solutions for any problems found. Each report looks at the website as a whole and covers the aspects of accessibility, usability and interoperability. The report is designed to be used by administrators in the public sector and gives an assessment on compliance with the latest eGovernment Interoperability Framework (eGIF) guidelines and also includes clear and detailed proposals for correcting problems.

Usability reports

An independent assessment of how easy your website is to use with detailed recommendations for improvements. We use a panel of testers with profiles to match your target user, to help with the process. We can also combine a usability report with an accessibility report as most of the relevant issues are related.
More about Usability Reports..

Benchmarking reports

Compare your website's effectiveness with those of your competitors or those in a similar field. We use a panel of users as they attempt various tasks on each of the websites. The number of panel testers, their profiles and the tasks set will all be agreed with you before testing begins. The report will identify positive and negative features of your website and allow you to learn from "best practices" used by other websites.

Charges for our reports vary according to the size and complexity of the website. If you would like us to have an initial look at your website and send you a free, no obligation, quotation please use our Quotation Request form.

  • Accessible websites load faster, are more reliable and easier to use. So everyone benefits from an inclusive website!
  • Accessibility is not an "add-on" for websites, it is the careful avoidance of creating barriers during the building process.
  • Web accessibility and usability testing provide important information on how to increase the reach and effectiveness of your web site.
  • By applying the lessons learnt you can make your site available to a wider audience and provide a better customer experience. The result is an increase in your sales and revenues.
